| Gouda originated in Holland over 800 years ago. It was the tradition to name a cheese after it's place of origin and this cheese is no exception. You will find the village of "Gouda" in southern Holland.
Gouda has a smooth creamy texture and a light buttery flavor. It is great paired with fruit such as apples and pears and is fabulous in fondue.
